We are looking forward to a year of exciting activities for all our students. Parents who have chosen Baptism for their child began a very long road of faith. Our program and your support of early faith formation, hopes to bring our Catholic Faith to life in the lives of our young parishioners. Together, our efforts can provide a connection between our young people and the larger faith community through catechetical
activities, outreach and social justice activities. Those who learn from religious education, learn elements of spirituality leading to a deepening of meaning, purpose and faith in their life. They become aware of the kind of success which leads to true happiness and fulfillment with God, both in this world and in the next.
Beginning this week, we are staring a new Bible Study, “Faith Circles”. This is a small group program that uses the weekly Sunday Gospels and Pope Francis’ Weekly Catechesis. Participants will meet the first and third Thursdays of each month beginning September 21st in the McCabe Room of the Parish Center. Faith Circles is open to all ages and will include a weekly pamphlet for children. Discussion will focus on ways in which the Spirit is calling us to live more lovingly, actively, deeply, joyfully and fruitfully our relationship with God, our Church and the World.
Also, new this year, students will be encouraged to attend 10:30am Mass on the 2nd Sunday of each month. Two grades will work together to participate in the Mass in some way (Gospel Procession, Communion Meditation, etc.). October 8th - Grades 4 and 8; November 12th - Grades Pre-K/K and 6, December 10th - Grades 1 and 11.
Mass on Sundays can be viewed live on www.livesteam.com.
