Dear Parishioners & Friends,
With all that happened at the Capitol in Washington and all the news of the Pandemic...and_______...and__________, it's been such a challenge these last two weeks. At this time of year the Church moves into Ordinary Time. People might say there's nothing ordinary these days. But when we look at life in Big B and DC, we have some new leaders to pray for—Bishop Mike Fisher, who took over the reins of the Diocese of Buffalo on Friday, and Joe Biden who will become our new President on Wednesday.
We pray for guidance for these new leaders, whose names we add occasionally to the bulletin and Prayer of the Faithful. May the Holy Spirit direct them to make wise decisions for the common good and help them bring order and some unity to the flocks they guide.
There definitely is an opportunity to draw people closer together and work with one another to bring about a better state of being for all of us. Of course, we can add to this the need for understanding and common goals to Wednesday, January 20, 2021 be worked on regarding the Coronavirus and the vaccines as they begin to be offered.
We add to that two of our big concerns also mentioned in this bulletin: our prayers for Christian Unity, starting Monday, and for a greater Respect for Life, at this time in January. Lots to pray for. Lots to be busy about. And thanks to God we have "the power of prayer" through our faith in Jesus
Love & Prayers,
Father Dick
